Yes, we made it to Friday! I can hardly believe that next week is Thanksgiving?! Like where did the year go? I’ve been testing some new recipes, and remaking some family favorites in preparation for the big day. What’s on your menu for the big day. I’ll be sharing some of my family’s recipes this weekend so stay tuned!
Here’s a few of the things I’m loving this week, hint it’s all things gingerbread.
Gingerbread RXBAR – Ok I haven’t actually tried these yet, but I have a feeling I will love them. I’m a huge fan of gingerbread lattes, gingerbread loaf, gingerbread biscotti and those white chocolate dipped gingerbread cookies from Trader Joe’s; not exactly the healthiest treats to eat on the regular. I ordered a package of these limited edition bars to have has a healthier alternative.
Berkeley Half Marathon – I’m running this race for the 5th time this year, and it’s something I look forward to every year. The course winds through Berkeley and along the waterfront providing some fantastic views of the city. I highly recommend it as a great race for beginners, it’s primarily downhill, and the crowd support is awesome. My fingers are crossed for better weather, last year was just a little wet.
Hydroflask – I bought my first one this week during the REI winter sale and love it quite possibly more than my swell bottle. It comes in a few fun colors, keeps beverages cold or hot for hours and I swear it helps me drink more water. The one I bought sold out in hours but there are a bunch of different sizes and colors available.
Hoka One One Clifton 2 – I’ve been running in these shoes for over 2 years now and LOVE them. While the max cushion may not be for everyone they have been life changing for me. I highly recommend them for those logging a lot of miles or that spend a lot of time on their feet. They are like running on clouds, visit your local running store and try a pair for yourself.
Around the World Lunge – This move will burn every single muscle in your legs and booty. Ok maybe not every muscle but it is a burner! You can do this move with or without weights. I recommend holding 5-8lb dumbbells in each hand, but feel free to go higher or lower. It’s important to keep your abs engaged and get your balance before dropping down into the lunge. Here’s a video that demonstrates the move. Reach out if you have any questions about performing this exercise.
I’m working hard to get some videos and other content up on the site. Please reach out if there’s something you’d like to see on the blog and I’ll do my best to make it happen!
