Welcome to the second edition of Friday Favorites. Today is Veteran’s day and I’m so grateful for the service of my grandfathers and all of those that fight for our freedoms on a daily basis. Take a moment to chat with a veteran, volunteer or send a card or care package to an active service member.
Here’s a few things I’m loving this week!
Coeur Sports – My love affair with this company continues! ICYMI – I’ll be representing Team Coeur in 2018! I’m so humbled, honored and thankful to be a part of this amazing group of women. I can’t wait to see what the team at HQ has in store for us in 2018. Thank you Coeur for supporting me and giving me the courage to chase after my dreams!
Stranger Things 2 – There was so much hype around the release of season 2 that I went into it with low expectations. Mind. Blown. Sci-fi and scary are definitely not my thing, but there’s so much more to this story. It starts out a little slow but just trust me on this one, the character development is so worth it. I can’t wait for season 3 and might regret binge watching all of it in one weekend.
Kodiak Cakes Frozen Waffles – You had me at chocolate. and protein. These are a lifesaver on early mornings. I top them with a bit of almond butter and eat them on the way to meet clients or before a workout. They’re great post workout as well! On the weekends I like to make waffles or pancakes from the mix, you can just add water or combine milk and an egg for more protein. I’m dying to try their oatmeal, granolas and flapjacks on the go. What’s your go to pre-workout or busy morning breakfast?
In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume – This book has been on my pad for a while, but I finally had a chance this week to really get into it. I grew up on Judy Blume, and love that she’s writing more adult things as well. Lauren from Lauren Lives Healthy just posted a huge list of books, so if you’re looking for something to read I suggest you go check it out.
Pumpkin Fat Balls courtesy of Lee From America – I’ve been eyeing the original fat ball recipe for months but haven’t bothered to make them. And then there were pumpkin spice fat balls and I knew I had to make these. I subbed a few things, replacing the sunflower seeds for extra pumpkin seeds and swapping the coconut manna for almond butter. I’m sure the original recipe is fantastic but I decided to make do with what I had on hand. I also added a little extra coconut oil to get them to come together but I don’t think they really needed it. Don’t be afraid to mix things up a bit and adjust to what you have on hand.
